I was almost certain Melendez/Thompson had fight of the night for me. Probably still do. But Cung Le v Scott Smith was so ridiculously entertaining that it’s hard for me to really make that decision.Taking that many combos that ended in a spinning back-kick had to be painful, yet he still pulled out an incredible victory in the last couple minutes. Awesome. Awesome.

There was no more dramatic way to end the evening than Le vs Smith, but Melendez/Thompson II was easily the Fight of the Night.  And that was after 2 full cards put on by WEC and Strikeforce.  I fully expect Esther Lin, Tracy Lee, Dave Mandel and Paul Thatcher to have some beautiful photographs up this week.
